October 21, 2017 - Happy Birthday, Ethan!

Today is Ethan's 19th birthday, the first of two birthdays he will experience in the mission field.  Having your child leave for two years to serve a mission is difficult.  We miss him each day.  But there is no place we would rather he be.  We are proud of him for his willingness to serve, for his example to our family, and for his testimony of Jesus Christ.

Happy Birthday, Ethan!
love, mom and dad

MTC Highlights

July 22, 2017 Dear Mom, I'm pretty happy that I can finally email you. Not being able to for these first couple days kinda made it hard. The MTC is actually pretty cool and the food is not so bad either (your food is better mom), but I just want to get out into the field and start teaching out there. I've already seen a lot of people I know and a lot of people that look like someone I know, like my companion. July 22, 2017 Hey Everyone, I have missed you all and can't wait to hear from all of you. The MTC is actually pretty cool with its good food and the thousands of people you meet everyday. What really made my day was being able to play some sports for my exercise time which was one thing I was afraid I wast going to be able to do. In all honesty I did not realize how far out of my comfort zone I would be going when I came out on this mission. I love being out here, but part of me can't wait to see you all again in 726 days. If you get th...

This is what happens when we ask him to send more photos.  :) Cameron and KayDee sent this selfie to Elder Wasden. Elder Wasden and Elder Ukena sent this one back.  Dear Family, This week I have found that a testimony is the most important thing we have and our greatest tool against the adversary, so I will be sharing mine. My testimony has grown exceedingly and above all, it is mine. Before I came on my mission I had a testimony, but I now see that it wasn't were it could have been. "A day will come when you will have to stand with only your testimony and testify of what you believe in" - Jeffery R, Holland. Look at your testimony now and ask is it what it could be. Don't put yourself down if it isn't, but rather take the time to figure out what you can do to strengthen it. I love the fact that I am out here on a mission and I hope that I will continue to grow. I know a mission has blessed my life and I hope that it will bless you either b...

Elder Wasden and Elder Ukena helping with the ward Halloween party. Hey everyone, I am sorry that there hasn't been much activity on the blog.  I have been sending audio recordings due to time, and I was hoping that those would be able to be posted, but sadly not. Anyway this week has been pretty hectic and also pretty cool, and I will try to get in as many details as I can remember.  This week transfers happened and I am now with Elder Trujillo and even though his name may sound Spanish, he isn't. We actually were in the MTC at the same time and came out to the field at the same time, but we did not see each other until we got out to the field though...not sure why. We had been in the same zone for our first two transfers and we had made the comment that we would be  companions at some point...who knew it would be so sudden? We are now in an area called Birch Hills and it is an amazing place and the part I love most is that the members are very involved in ...
