Hey Everyone,

It is weird how time works when you are on your mission.  If you look to the future time slows down.  If you look at the present you don't notice the time.  But if you look to the past you realize that time is racing past you.

Well, today was pretty crazy. We woke up at 5:00 am, got ready, and were heading to the temple by 5:30 am. Because we were heading to the temple, today was going to be our P-day which totally threw me off a bit. We were at the temple for the whole morning, and, I have to say, the more I spend time with the other Anaheim missionaries the more I like them. They are crazy and super fun to talk to, but they always stay close to the spirit. We went to Costa Vida and I ate a spicy chicken enchilada which was really good.  Right after we went and played volleyball as a zone and that was fun. For dinner my companion and I went to a member's house and guess what they had made... chicken enchiladas, and they were pretty good.  I had eaten two and was really full, but then the member gave me some more and, being me, I was way to nice to say "no thank you," so I almost threw up, but such is life for us missionaries.

So today was supposed to be a typical planning day where we took care of anything we had not completed in that week, but nope...instead we got a call to head to Mary's [kitchen] again.  I have only been in the field for about 2 weeks and I have already gone to Mary's four times, which is more than an Elder who has been in the field a year. Mary's does remind me of my time at the Ogden Pizzeria though and I did kind of enjoy working at the Pizzeria. We got back to our apartment around 4:00 pm and we had to get ready for dinner with a member so we had to hurry, so I guess we will have to do weekly planning another time.

Another day of exchanges.  This time I was paired up with Elder Jones, and at first it was a little awkward since he doesn't talk a whole lot, but then we found out we both played a lot of soccer and both still enjoyed doing so. The whole day was spent tracking and trying to find investigators, but it seemed like no one wanted to learn, at least until we met a guy named Kevin. His religion was similar to ours in many ways but he did not believe in the Book of Mormon. He wasn't attacking us though, in fact he was helping me realize how questioning everything is the way to know truth.

Randy got baptized too!!! It was very spiritual and amazing for me to see, especially since I've only been out for 2 weeks.

Hey Mom,
So today was really hectic for being a P-Day and....well, let's just say that my companion and I and two other missionaries got in a wreck... We are fine and no one got hurt. It scared the crap out of me but that's about it. I will try to send out more emails to people, since my email list is so big, although I don't know if will have enough time since I don't have any wi-fi at my apartment.  P-Day lasts until 5:00 pm and I am not allowed to draft emails, so I promise I'll give everything I've got to send out the emails I have.
Love, Ethan

This is what happens when we ask him to send more photos.  :) Cameron and KayDee sent this selfie to Elder Wasden. Elder Wasden and Elder Ukena sent this one back.  Dear Family, This week I have found that a testimony is the most important thing we have and our greatest tool against the adversary, so I will be sharing mine. My testimony has grown exceedingly and above all, it is mine. Before I came on my mission I had a testimony, but I now see that it wasn't were it could have been. "A day will come when you will have to stand with only your testimony and testify of what you believe in" - Jeffery R, Holland. Look at your testimony now and ask is it what it could be. Don't put yourself down if it isn't, but rather take the time to figure out what you can do to strengthen it. I love the fact that I am out here on a mission and I hope that I will continue to grow. I know a mission has blessed my life and I hope that it will bless you either b...

MTC Highlights

July 22, 2017 Dear Mom, I'm pretty happy that I can finally email you. Not being able to for these first couple days kinda made it hard. The MTC is actually pretty cool and the food is not so bad either (your food is better mom), but I just want to get out into the field and start teaching out there. I've already seen a lot of people I know and a lot of people that look like someone I know, like my companion. July 22, 2017 Hey Everyone, I have missed you all and can't wait to hear from all of you. The MTC is actually pretty cool with its good food and the thousands of people you meet everyday. What really made my day was being able to play some sports for my exercise time which was one thing I was afraid I wast going to be able to do. In all honesty I did not realize how far out of my comfort zone I would be going when I came out on this mission. I love being out here, but part of me can't wait to see you all again in 726 days. If you get th...

Hey everyone,  So sorry that I have not been able to send a group email for the past couple weeks. A lot has happened, health-wise and spiritually, and I wish I had more time to let you in on what's happening. So to summarize, we have two baptisms that are coming up in the next two weeks, and we are really looking forward to that.  Sadly as far as the past week there is not much to tell about due to the fact that Elder Purser and I have been sick for the past 3 weeks.  Sorry for the short update. Love you all.
